There is a strong mythological relationship for Kedarnath. The legend is that Pandav was feeling guilty after fighting his brothers in Kurukshetra war and apologized to Lord Shiva. But Shiva repeatedly crushed them and found refuge in Kedarnath as a bull. Another interesting fact about Kedarnath is that the temple built in the 8th century built by Guru Adi Shankaracharya is standing near the temple built by Pandavas. The inner halls of Kedarnath temple are decorated with mythological paintings and deities.

Another interesting fact about Kedarnath is the Samadhi of Adi Shankaracharya, which is located behind the temple. It is believed that after establishing 4 Dhams in India, he went to his tomb in his early 30's. There are also other tourist attractions in Kedarnath. Vasuki Tal is a beautiful lake amidst calm atmosphere. The best time to visit Kedarnath will be in the summer of April to October, which is leaving the monsoon. The winters are very serious and make the place unattainable. Due to the severe weather conditions, the temple also closes during winter.
